The College Golf Course at Delhi offers a distinguished 18-hole public course situated in Delhi, Delaware County, NY. Renowned for its scenic beauty and thoughtfully designed layout, the front nine holes feature classic 1960s architecture with undulating greens that present a genuine challenge. Notably, the 7th hole has been recognized among the top eighteen in the Southern Tier region.

The back nine, inaugurated in June 1996, traces the natural contours of the adjacent mountains, showcasing a design developed with input from leading industry professionals. The course benefits from advanced grasses, modern irrigation systems, and panoramic vistas, providing an engaging experience for golfers across all skill levels.

As an educational facility, the course serves as a practical training ground for students enrolled in SUNY Delhi’s esteemed programs in Golf Course Operations, Turf Management, and Professional Golf Management. These students acquire comprehensive industry knowledge and gain hands-on experience on the course as part of their academic development.

Exceptional course maintenance and facilities have established The College Golf Course at Delhi as a premier venue for championship events. Since 2010, it has annually hosted the New York State Public High School Girls Championship and the Section 4, Class D Championship. The course also regularly hosts the Delaware County Men’s and Women’s Amateur Championships and serves as a testing site for the Northeastern New York PGA Section Player Ability Test.

The course’s integration with SUNY Delhi’s golf education programs has garnered notable recognition, including features in Links and New York Golf magazines. It holds certification as an Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary—the only such certification among 38 courses statewide—and is one of only three college courses nationally to achieve this status (alongside facilities at the University of Maryland at College Park and the University of Notre Dame). Since 1993, former U.S. Senior Open Champion Larry Laoretti has been a volunteer spokesman advocating for both the course and SUNY Delhi’s golf programs.
